Getting Ripped Abs Explained

Posted by admin on April 30th, 2010 and filed under ripped abs | Comments Off

Abs. Got ‘em? Especially if you’re a guy, chances are, you’d like to make your abs more ripped. You can get more ripped, too, if you follow a few basic abs diet and exercise tips. When it comes to how to get ripped, you can get those abs you’ve always wanted — and it doesn’t have to be that hard. It is going to take some time, though, because you can’t expect overnight results. You didn’t get that “couch bod” in one day and it’s going to take a little bit longer to get ripped as a result.

Be productive

The training methods you’re going to employ have to be productive, or you could spend more time in the gym but see fewer results. So pay attention to these points.

Your diet

In fact, this is probably the most important part of how to get ripped. It’s at least half of the equation, anyway, and probably better than half (the other half is the effort and proper technique you’re going to put into your workout, along with just plain determination and willpower).

But wait a minute; don’t think that a single diet can help you get ripped. You can do a number of different things that will help you achieve the look you want.

Eat less than you burn

If you want to achieve definition and lose some body fat, you are going to have to take in fewer calories than you burn. However, the eating program you choose (as opposed to “diet,” which is truly a nasty a negative word) is going to have to be something you’ll like and will stick with.

Bulk up on the protein

You need to eat about a gram of protein per pound of body mass in order to help you build muscle. You want to lose the fat and build muscle, and to that end, you need more protein than you would if you were simply trying to lose weight.

How many calories?

Take your current body weight in pounds and multiply it by between 10 and 12. (If you’re significantly overweight, multiply it by a smaller number than that, such as eight.) This will give you the rough number of calories you need to consume in order to lose weight even as you are strenuously working out.

The way you break out those calories will go something like this: let’s say, for example, that your formulation says you should be consuming 1800 calories a day. Of those, remember that you are going to want to consume a gram of protein per pound of body weight, or about 180 g of protein if you’ve multiplied your body weight by 10 for the number of calories you get. A gram of protein has four calories, so 180 g times four is 720 calories. That means you should get 720 calories from protein.

15% of your calories should come from “good” fats like omega-3 fatty acids and healthy oils like olive oil and from lean proteins like lean beef. The rest should come from complex carbohydrates.

Your abs workout

You cannot simply work on your abs to get ripped abs. As to how to get ripped, you’ll have to simply lose the fat overall, gain definition, and then work on muscle groups individually.

Work smarter, not harder

Change your program out, but three to five days a week, do a workout on all the muscle groups by performing an abs exercise like crunches, along with other muscle group exercises like calf raises, rows, shoulder presses, deadlifts, squats, bench presses and lat pulls — two sets of 10 reps each until you tire the muscle groups out for each exercise. On alternate days, do some whole body cardio like jogging, swimming, running, bicycling, etc. Go for 30 minutes to start and ramp it up to an hour as you get in better shape.

Get abs? Got abs

Again, it’s not going to happen overnight, but following your program and your diet is going to show you how to get ripped. As you lose the fat in gain muscle and definition, you should see those ripped abs in no time at all. Remember, you can focus on your abs — but not to the exclusion of other muscle groups or of cardio, because that won’t help. You need whole body exercise and some decent cardio to truly get the body you want.

Getting washboard abs can be easier and less frustrating than what you are currently going through now! Seek out abs program that will outline everything you need to know to get that six pack body. A comprehensive abs guide should generally include diet, workout techniques, abs exercise routines and maintenance!

Get Washboard Abs with an MMA Workout

Posted by admin on April 28th, 2010 and filed under washboard abs | Comments Off

You can get washboard abs by doing an MMA workout just like the UFC fighters do.  UFC fighters have to build a solid core in order to not only be able to handle a punch or kick to the midsection, but also their core muscles are what can help them to torque their body in many of the holds that they put on their opponents.  Now you can learn the same techniques that they know in order to get washboard abs like they do.

In order to get washboard abs, you don’t need to spend hours upon hours doing sit ups.  In fact, sit ups are not the best exercise to get that six pack that you desire.  In order to get the best looking six pack possible, you need to do isometric core exercises.

Isometric core exercises are those that are not built around movement of the body, but rather the tightening or contracting of the muscle.  Many people who do yoga understand the meaning of isometric exercises (although this is not about yoga.)  One of the best ways to do iseometric exercises for your abs is with a plank.

By doing a plank, you are tightening your core ab muscles without “building” your ab muscles.  To do a proper plank, you place your elbows and forearms on the ground with your toes on the ground (as if you were doing a push up).  If you tighten your abs and your glutes (butt), you will feel the tension in your core muscles.  Keep that position for 30 – 45 seconds and you will start to feel the burn.

With this exercise, you will notice that there are no movements done to build muscle, which makes the ab muscle group tighten up in order to get washboard abs.  There are also many other variations that go along with doing planks that also will help to build your core muscle groups.

But don’t be mistaken, you cannot get washboard abs if you do not also make sure that you are eating the right foods and dieting correctly.  The midsection area of a body has the most fat content and so it must be free of that fat layer in order to see the results of your hard work.

All of these exercises to get washboard abs as well as ripped biceps and chest are all in Eric Wong’s MMA Ripped program.  In this program, you will learn the very best exercises that the UFC fighters are doing to get their bodies to be absolute machines.

6 Pack Abs Can Be Yours

Posted by admin on April 28th, 2010 and filed under six pack abs | Comments Off

What would you say if someone told you that you can have 6 pack abs? Would you believe them or would you think they were crazy? You should believe them. You should know that you can get a 6 pack no matter who you are or what your body looks like. Everyone has the potential to build a 6 pack.

All it takes it getting to understand what it takes to build a six pack, committing to it and getting moving in that direction. A six pack can be yours and it can happen sooner than you may expect.

Know What a 6 Pack Is

A 6 pack is the look that is achieved when the abdominal muscles are well defined and there is little fat in the belly area. This comes with a trim and fit body.

The 6 pack is made of the three sets of ab muscles and by having strong back muscles. In order to build a six pack you must reduce your belly fat and build up these core muscles. This is done through diet and exercise. You can not achieve a good 6 pack look without both building the muscles and reducing the fat.

Get Rid of the Fat

As mentioned you have to get rid of the fat. You want to reduce overall body fat and especially body fat in the stomach area. To do this you need to combine a good diet with aerobic exercise.

You should try to work out aerobically five times a week if you really want results. It is usually recommended to workout three times a week but fort maximum fat burn work out more often.

You also need to cut out all the bad things from your diet. Stop eating fat, sugar and salt. You should also lower carbs and try to stay within the recommended daily allowance. This should put you on the fast track to losing weight.

Work your Abs

You also need to work your ab muscles. You have to focus on working all three ab muscles and strengthening your back. Most people neglect their back but it is important because your back muscles support your abs and help keep them tight.

A great exercise to work your back and abs at the same time is the plank. To do the plank you get in a push up position and lower your body so your forearms are resting on the floor. You hold this position while keeping your stomach tight and your body in a straight line. It is hard, but effective.

6 pack abs can be yours alright but it will take hard work, determination and motivation to get you to your goal. You will need all the support you can get.

Core Rhythms – Sexy Abs Begin With Core Rhythms

Posted by admin on April 28th, 2010 and filed under sexy abs | Comments Off

Looking for a productive, fun, quick workout with instructors extraordinaire? Core Rhythms gives it, as Jaana Kunitz and Julia Powers instruct you how to get sexy abs and a fit core.

Present and past dancers, professional or not, can stay motivated and see results with these DVD’s. They tend to get one’s inner dance movin’ at a can-do rate. Folks with no previous dance training, do not fear. Jaana and Julia give great instructions, and if you don’t get it the interactive videos have a help feature. It enables you to stop the video and get a breakdown of the move – then return to the video.

The Core Rhythms starter pack comes with 4 DVD’s:

Kick Start – Shows the basic moves needed for the rest of the videos and is a boon to beginner’s. I am not a beginner, yet I return to Kick Start every so often and realize what I’ve been missing. A great dancer, Hanya Holm, once told me to remember, “I may not always be a beginner, but I am always beginning.”
Full Workout – Here’s where cellular memory pops into play. You use the basic moves in dance exercises presented by both instructors. It’s fun and stimulating. I always feel like I’ve accomplished a huge feat after I’ve worked this video!
Quick Workout – A powerful 20 minute sweat, intensive and effective for those times when you have to workout, but only have a short time to move it.
Latin Dance Made Easy – Beautiful choreography for male and female partners (taught with the mates of the gorgeous instructors). If your not interested in partnering, that’s okay, you can still practice, and the sexy views of the dancers is a bonus.

Along with the help feature on the Core Rhythms DVD’s, you have the choice of viewing from the front or back. This is a nice feature to use to find those muscles. The abs used are: upper, lower, front, back, and interior. It feels pretty good, especially if you haven’t felt or seen them in awhile. The abs and obliques really get worked as you sweat out fat and develop sexy abs.

Mostly, this home workout is the funnest, and most effective way to flat, sexy abs that I have ever found. An added bonus is the terrific music that enhances the desire to move sensuously.

Please check this blog/video out for more information. You can easily order the DVDs if sexy abs and a fun workout are what you have been looking for! I blog at Boomer Galaxy found at www.boomergalaxy.com.
