The average person consumes over 150 pounds of sugar each year on a per capita basis. That equals over 30 five-pound bags of sugar per person. That’s a lot of sugar. It is not surprising that diseases like obesity and diabetes are on the rise. These diseases are not just limited to adults; we are seeing them in children more and more. Glucose is a carbohydrate which is found in general circulation in the body. All other forms of sugar are converted into this basic molecule by the body. How Many Calories Should You Eat In a Day?

Calorie counting is big these days, but it is my bet that those calorie counters are struggling with their weight. Why? Because they have not addressed the true reason why they are overweight! It is more about the quality of the calories you eat each day, rather than the amount of calories you eat. Get this under control and you will see a major shift in your weight.

It seems so hard for people to get off of the diet mindset. They just seem to think that the only way to lose weight is to diet. Amazing! The way to lose weight is to change what it was you were eating that got you fat in the first place. People think they have to starve themselves on a diet, or count calories, or whatever cockamamie diet they want to try, but this will only backfire on you. The way to lose weight, and to be able to keep the weight off, is to change what you are doing.

Losing 1-3 pounds a week is best. I know you want to lose weight quicker, but if you do, you risk losing more muscle than fat, plus it is not healthy for your skin to lose weight quickly. To lose one pound you need a calorie difference of 3500 calories over a period of one week.

If you are looking to lose 1 pound a week, then on average, you need to either burn 500 more calories a day than what you consume, or you need to eat 500 less calories each day than what you burn. Of course this also depends on your age, your gender, your height and weight, the type of calories you eat, etc. One size does not fit all with this equation.

I hassled with diets for what seemed like forever. You know how the yo-yo is! Up and down with my weight, but now there is no more up. My weight problem is no longer because I quit dieting. I just discovered how to eat properly. What is amazing is that everyone thinks they know what eating healthy means, but in reality, they really have no clue. They have been deceived!
